WELCOME TO BASIS AHWATUKEE
BASIS schools offer students something no other American public school does: An education that prepares them according to the highest, most rigorous international standards. Our schools have been ranked consistently among the best schools in the United States--and the world.
"I am involved with BASIS because I know it employs a model that works. BASIS establishes the elements essential to student success: high expectations, great teachers who are experts in their disciplines, and tension within the system to ensure teachers and students are driven toward success. With these fundamentals in place, the BASIS Schools have achieved phenomenal results.”

BASIS Ahwatukee, located in the developing Piedmont technology corridor, opens on August 5th to almost 600 students in Grades 5-10. It will add an additional grade each year and in 2016 the school will have their first graduating class.
BASIS Ahwatukee features the same rigorous academic program as our legacy schools in Scottsdale and Tucson.
The lower school program focuses on building organizational and study skills and creating a deep knowledge base necessary for students to tackle the demanding AP-driven upper school curriculum. Latin, general science and physical geography are introduced in Grade 5. Physics, chemistry and biology are featured in Grade 6. Students in Grade 7 have the opportunity to study Mandarin, French or Spanish.
The BASIS legacy schools in Scottsdale and Tucson are consistently recognized as having one of the finest high school programs in the country and have been highly ranked by U.S. News, Newsweek, and The Washington Post. Students take honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses as early as 8th grade. These College Board courses and exams are now recognized and valued by over 90% of the universities and colleges in the country as well as many prestigious universities overseas. Over the next few years, BASIS Ahwatukee will offer all students Honors, AP and post-AP level classes in the high school grades.
MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Welcome to BASIS Ahwatukee! I could not be more excited to join such a dedicated and passionate group of faculty and staff as BASIS Ahwatukee starts its second year of operation. In just one short year BASIS Ahwatukee has built a thriving community of teachers, students, and parents and we look forward to welcoming our new 4th and 5th grade students this year. The teachers that are assembled at this campus are not only bright, competent, and passionate about their subjects they are also welcoming, warm, and kind to the students and each other. I look forward to getting to know all the students and families that make BASIS Ahwatukee such a fantastic community. Please feel free to email me with questions and/or concerns any time.
