BASIS Ahwatukee, located just off the I-10 and Elliot Road, began its second year of operation serving over 700 students in Grades 4-11. The school will expand to grades 4-12 next year.
BASIS Ahwatukee features the same rigorous academic program as our legacy schools in Scottsdale and Tucson.
The Grades 4-7 program focuses on building organizational and study skills and creating a deep knowledge base necessary for students to tackle the demanding AP-driven upper school curriculum. Latin, general science and physical geography are introduced in Grade 5. Physics, chemistry and biology are featured in Grade 6. Students in Grade 7 have the opportunity to study Mandarin, French or Spanish.
The BASIS legacy schools in Scottsdale and Tucson are consistently recognized as having one of the finest high school programs in the country and have been highly ranked by U.S. News, Newsweek, and The Washington Post. Students take honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses as early as 8th grade. These College Board courses and exams are now recognized and valued by over 90% of the universities and colleges in the country as well as many prestigious universities overseas. Over the next few years, BASIS Ahwatukee will offer all students Honors, AP and post-AP level classes in the high school grades.
